Properties: reddish brown or brownish-red crystalline powder. Soluble in chloroform and dimethyl sulfoxide, soluble in ethyl acetate, methanol and tetrahydrofuran, propanol and carbon tetrachloride. The dry powder can be stable for more than 5 years, slightly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution fails at room temperature for 10h, but the addition of reducing agents (such as ascyclohemic acid) can reduce the decomposition and is extremely stable in dimethyl sulfoxide
