Soluble amphotericin B is a polyene antifungal antibiotic from Streptomyces. It has affinity with sterols in fungal cell membrane, especially ergosterol, and forms channels in the membrane, causing the loss of some small molecules. Antibacterial spectrum: fungi and yeast. It is not sensitive to bacteria, Rickettsia and viruses.
